Scholz & Friends rejigs management

HAMBURG--Cordiant Communications Group-owned Scholz & Friends Group is realigning responsibilities at its Hamburg headquarters.

Executive Director Norbert Lindhof, 48, will take over handling of all international activities from CEO-Chairman Peter M. Schoening, who becomes executive director of the Cordiant Board in London. Mr. Lindhof will remainresponsible for the group's new business operation. In addition, John Sealey, 34, is promoted to managing director of Scholz & Friends International.

Scholz & Friends Group has quietly picked up 10 international clients since beginning its European expansion, including Tchibo coffee, CNBC, Center Parks, EuropCar and Swedish Match. The group now has 13 offices outside Germanborders, with 60 staff in both the London and Budapest offices. Next goals include expanding the Madrid office and opening an agency in Scandinavia.

Scholz & Friends was started in 1981 by renowned advertising star Juergen Scholz. A minority share was sold in 1985 to the then Ted Bates agency. It is now 100%-owned by Cordiant.
