Schwab launches

Charles Schwab Corp. unveiled, an introduction to the financial-services giant's Web site that will provide customized tours. By incorporating multimedia technology into this first release of the new-customer site, the company hopes to emulate the type of experience prospective clients receive when they walk into a Schwab branch. Schwab also hopes to make potential investors more comfortable with the Schwab approach to investing. On, prospective clients are greeted by the voice of Charles Schwab himself, who encourages visitors to customize their tour of the site by selecting one of five unique investor profiles: Beginning Investors, Active Traders, Retirement Ahead, Women Investors and Affluent Investors. After making a selection, visitors are presented with specific investment strategies and tools customized to the needs and goals of the selected profile. At each step, customers are asked whether they want to continue with the tour.
