Slated for success

Levi Strauss & Co. will name its latest brand of dress pant Slates. Targeted to men in their 30s and 40s, the brand will be marketed as making casual dressing easier. Slates will eventually include other clothing items, such as jackets. Foote, Cone & Belding, San Francisco, which handles Levi's and Dockers brands for the company, will also handle Slate advertising. A $10 million campaign is scheduled to begin in fall 1996.
