Soda-Club breaks pan-Euro campaign

LONDON -- SodaStream, the U.K. maker of homemade carbonated soft drink appliances and supplies, has merged with rival SodaClub Group. The merger will be followed by a $7.2 million European TV ad campaign for Soda-Club, which starts May 18.

The commercial, created by FCA, London, targets families that are frequent buyers of soft drinks. The spot uses humor to convey the fun and convenience benefits of Soda-Club products. The campaign breaks in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria, with a U.K. campaign likely to start in the autumn.

Soda-Club European Region Marketing Controller Russell Atkinson says the combined group should achieve sales of $160 million this year in 16 countries.
