Softbank wins AltaVista Europe site

The European mirror site for the AltaVista search engine named Softbank Interactive Marketing to handle ad sales for Western and Southern Europe. Softbank and Telia InfoMedia Interactive will sell ads on a tiered rate card starting at 50,000 impressions. DoubleClick handles ad sales for AltaVista in the U.S., but it's not likely SIM would go after that account, since it just picked up business from competitor Lycos.
