Advertising at the merged company will continue to be sold at a $35 CPM. Addicted to Noise and SonicNet together boast advertisers including 7Up, Levi Strauss & Co., Jaegermeister, The Gap, Microsoft Corp., Nynex and Snapple.
The new company plans to launch a SonicNet radio show in 120 markets by this May. The merged company is also investigating launching SonicNet TV, said David Friedensohn, the company's president and CEO. Mr. Friedensohn left his post as VP-business development at Prodigy late last month; he had worked in that position while serving as president and chairman of the board of SonicNet, a venture he oversaw during its affiliation with Prodigy.
