(July 17, 2001) -- Jon Soto has returned to Omnicom Group's Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, as associate creative director after a stint at sibling shop TBWA/Chiat/Day, San Francisco.

Mr. Soto's return to Goodby, where he worked on an advertising campaign for former client Nike that won the Cannes Grand Prix, is the second major creative shuffle on the West Coast in two days.

On Monday, reported that Kirk Souder, a founder and creative partner at Ground Zero, Los Angeles, left the agency to spend more time with his family.

Mr. Soto started his career with Mad Dogs & Englishmen in New York and later joined Goodby, working on Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Co. and Anheauser-Busch's Budweiser. Soto's award winning work for Nike involved a campaign for skateboarding in which participants in other sports such as tennis or running were chased away or harrassed by passers-by much the same as skateboarders are.

Mr. Soto, who worked on the Levi Strauss & Co. and Sony Playstation accounts at TBWA/Chiat/Day, now will work with his previous creative partner, Al Kelly. -- Alice Z. Cuneo
