Starcom to buy for other agencies

Starcom Worldwide, Chicago, the media division of Leo Burnett Co., has formed a new subsidiary to do media buying and planning for other agencies. Called StarLink, it will be run independently of Starcom and be headed by Bob Kubis, 48, formerly a VP-retail group account director at Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago. Mr. Kubis, named president of StarLink, began his career as a media planner at Burnett in 1976. Ken Zasky, 34, who's been with Burnett/Starcom 13 years, will be VP-media director of StarLink. Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York is expected to be StarLink's first agency client, said Starcom CEO Jack Klues. The two shops already have an existing relationship.
