States in pact with Liggett

Attorneys general from 22 states scheduled a news conference today to announce Liggett Group's agreement to put warnings on cigarette packs that smoking is addictive. Its four larger tobacco rivals, meanwhile, won a North Carolina state court restraining order preventing Liggett from turning over to the AGs records of legal discussions that took place among the tobacco companies.
