AT&T relaunches car-buying service

AT&T Media Services, the ad sales unit of AT&T Broadband & Internet Services, has introduced, an automotive online-buying service. The service is an outgrowth of the interactive cable TV service AT&T offers car dealers and was formerly called AutoMallUSA. Through, car shoppers can research and buy cars as well as secure financing. The site also features automotive content in the form of auto reviews and safety records. Vehix said it expects to spend $35 million advertising the car site on cable TV and through undisclosed marketing partnerships. Vehix faces tough competition for the numerous car sites competing in this space, including MSN's CarPoint, Autobytel and many others.
