(July 2, 2001) -- A decision on AT&T Corp.'s $400 million AT&T Wireless account is anticipated some time during the week of July 9.

Three agency finalists -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' FCB Worldwide, New York, Omnicom Group's TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa Del Rey, Calif., and WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York -- are awaiting a decision after a final round of presentations June 29 to AT&T Wireless executives.

The meetings, held in Paramus, N.J., summarized previous pitches for the company's agency review team and top management including Chairman-CEO John Zeglis.

FCB, New York, which is defending the account, pitched first, followed by TBWA and Ogilvy. FCB has worked around the clock on its pitch for nearly four months while also continuing to work on the account; ads break July 9 and July 12 heralding the spinoff of AT&T Wireless.
