Go.com taps Cliff Freeman, Razorfish

Go.com, Sunnyvale, Calif., selected Cliff Freeman & Partners, New York, to create an offline ad campaign for the Go Network portal. The campaign is scheduled to debut at the end of the summer. In addition, Go.com picked interactive shop Razorfish to revamp the site. Go.com does plan to advertise online but has not yet announced its online media-buying agency. Cliff Freeman also may handle online creative, said Judy Fearing, senior VP-marketing for Go.com. USWeb/CKS, San Francisco, previously handled the launch campaign of Go.com. Walt Disney Co.'s acquisition of Infoseek last November led to the merger of Infoseek and Disney's Buena Vista Internet Group, creating Go.com. Go.com is repositioning its portal as a source for entertainment, recreation and leisure content. Go.com will advertise on both ABC- and non-ABC-affiliated media properties. In related news, Go.com named Doug De Vito, 32, VP-marketing of its Go Network. Mr. De Vito, formerly VP-marketing at Lyte.com, will report to Ms. Fearing.
