Internet network Terra Lycos acquired Iberwap, a provider of digital cartography services and content. Iberwap has the largest map database on the Web and on the market in Spain and offers a range of value-added products and content. Iberwap also provides Wireless Application Protocol applications for adapting Internet products for wireless devices. Terra Lycos plans to adapt Iberwap products for distribution in other markets around the world. At present, the company is the content provider for Terra's Callejero channel (http://callejero.terra.es). Separately, Terra Lycos said it has acquired Raging Bull, a financial community on the Web, from CMGI's Alta Vista Co.

In other Terra Lycos news, FreeCar.com, Los Angeles, which provides marketers an alternative out-of-home advertising medium by wrapping cars with marketing messages, signed a deal with Terra Lycos to promote several products within the Lycos Network by wrapping 40 Lycos' employees cars. The staffers in Boston and Mountain View, Calif., will allow their own cars to be dressed with promotions for offerings including Lycos Travel, Lycos News and Lycos Computers. FreeCar helps marketers get their advertising to the streets by giving away free cars wrapped in logos and branding messages to drivers for two years or by paying consumers a monthly fee to wrap their own cars in advertising.
