Ticket to Ride: Amtrak Taps Ogilvy

Amtrak today named WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather, New York, as agency of record. O&M will do ads for Amtrak's Northeast corridor as well as any national Amtrak campaigns. Amtrak is a $15 million to $20 million account that has been handled by Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, New York. The move had been expected. Amtrak also uses several other agencies including Chisholm-Mingo Group, New York, for multicultural ads and DDB, Seattle, continues to do some advertising promoting a train that travels up California and into Oregon. Glass-McClure handles California-only trains.
