Ticketmaster scales back push plans

Tickmaster, which was slated to introduce an enhanced push ticket-buying service this spring, has opted for a hybrid push/personalized service to be rolled out in late summer.

``We realized we could provide all the functionality and all the bells and whistles with a push/personalized hybrid,'' said Alan Citron, president of Ticketmaster Multimedia, West Hollywood, Calif.

Ticketmaster is partnering with Intel Corp. on developing the service. It will include a pushed ticker running on the desktop with relevant news of upcoming concerts and events and a Web site where users can personalize music preferences and local venues.
