(May 17, 2001) -- The Timberland Co., the Stratham, N.H., apparel manufacturer and retailer, has launched a review for a creative agency for its estimated $20 million global account.

The company is parting ways with the incumbent, Interpublic Group of Cos.' the Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., a Timberland spokeswoman said.

"We are looking for someone with worldwide capabilities in Asia, Europe, the Americas," as well as expertise in global strategy, retail marketing and point of sale, she said.

Timberland spent $12.8 million in 2000, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres' CMR.

Select Resources International, West Hollywood, Calif., is the search consultant. A decision is expected in August. Media will remain at Allscope Media, New York. -- Alice Z. Cuneo
