Time Inc. Beefs up corporate marketing in Asia

HONG KONG--Time Inc., a divisionof Time Warner, has poached two marketers,Jane Scholes and Christine Gardiner, fromDow Jones & Co. in Hong Kong. Both havejoined Time Inc.'s newly-created corporatemarketing team for Asia.

At Dow Jones, Ms. Scholes was publicitymanager for Asia, prior to which she workedat DG Bank's Hong Kong branch in corporatecommunications. Ms. Gardiner was assistantmarketing manager at The Asian Wall StreetJournal, also in Hong Kong. From 1993 to1997 she was based in New York as international sales and marketing associate at Advertising Age International.

Both will assist Time Inc. Marketing Director Evan Blank in coordinating salesand marketing activities among the group'sregional interests -- including Asian editions of Time and Fortune, Asiaweek, Japanese-language publications President andDancyu, Fortune China and Time Express inChinese. They will also work on cross-titledeals with Time Warner's other propertiesin Asia: CNN International, TNT/CartoonNetwork and inflight publisher Emphasis.
