Carillon Importers today launches its first ads for Stolichnaya Cristall vodka, from Margeotes Fertitta Donaher & Weiss, New York. The $3 million campaign consists of spread ads featuring the vodka's bottle on one side and copy denying that all vodkas are the same on the other. The superpremium-price Cristall sells for $22 a bottle. The brand got little advertising under former importer Monsieur Henri, but Carillon sees growth potential in the segment. Carillon, longtime marketer of Absolut vodka, took over Stoli earlier this year after losing the Absolut rights to the House of Seagram.
