TV's Ed Sullivan in Mercedes ads

Mercedes-Benz of North America said it will launch its first sport utility vehicle, the M-Class, Sept. 14 during the Emmy Awards on CBS. The M-Class commercial, from Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York, uses historic footage of TV's Ed Sullivan, who introduces the SUV. A page teaser ad with photos of the late TV variety show host broke in today's USA Today. The campaign is part of Mercedes' $80 million push from September through December, which will include another M-Class spot and modifed brand spots from earlier this year.
