U.K. bank invests $64m in Euro RSCG

LONDON -- U.K. bank the Abbey National has cashed in a six year relationship with local shop Barker & Ralston in favor of a single agency deal. Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper London will now handle all the $64m above-the-line account it previously shared with Barker & Ralston.

Sara Weller, Abbey National's director of customer marketing, who recently quit the pan-European role of consumer development director at Mars, says: "Abbey National is entering a time of substantial overhaul in a highly dynamic marketplace. We need to work in close partnership with a single agency to achieve both a breakthrough in our thinking and 100% integration in our execution of the strategy to build the brand as a substantial force for the next century."
