Virgin Cola USA, Los Angeles, is set to stage a promotion in New York Aug. 18 carrying out the theme of its ad campaign, which highlights regular people rather than celebrities. "Everyday American" Jimmy Greenaway, who is pictured on some Virgin Cola cans, will ride a New York City bus and pass out free T-shirts and samples. Virgin also is conducting a seven-city tour giving people a chance to be filmed airing their opinions on a Virgin Cola soapbox for possible inclusion in future TV ads.
