(July 25, 2001) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich., hired three and elevated one, all to the post vice president.

The agency named Kendra M. Mazey, 31, as vice president-associate media director on Pier 1 from partner-associate communications director at WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson, Detroit. She succeeds Craig Cole, who went to Adworks, Washington, D.C., as a senior media planner. Ms. Mazey was earlier a media planner at Wyse Advertising, Cleveland.

Also, James E. Plegue, 44, joined the agency as vice president-copy supervisor, a new position, from senior vice president-group creative director at WPP's Y&R, San Francisco and Detroit, where he led the agency's Lincoln account.

Kathi M. Strace, 48, rejoined the agency as vice president-manager of broadcast administration, a new position, from partner-senior business manager on Ford National at J. Walter Thompson, Detroit. She earlier worked for Campbell-Ewald from 1986 to 1999 and last served as vice president-business manager.

In addition, the agency promoted Keith F. Clark, 29, to vice president from account supervisor on the U.S. Navy account. He first joined the agency in 1996 as a junior media planner and returned to the agency in 2000 as account supervisor after a stint at Rodale Press. -- Kate MacArthur
