(April 20, 2001) -- Jack Rotherham left Wenner Media today after a short stint as executive vice president and group publisher.

Mr. Rotherham, a 14-year veteran of the company, will not be replaced, but some of his reponsibilties coordinating group media sales will be assumed by Meredith Jones, executive director of corporate sales.

On March 5, Mr. Rotherham was replaced as publisher of Rolling Stone by Men's Journal publisher Rob Gregory, at which point Mr. Rotherham became group publisher. In February, rumors that Mr. Rotherham was to be replaced by Lori Burgess, publisher of Conde Nast Publications' Mademoiselle, were firmly quashed by a Conde Nast spokeswoman on Feb. 23 after a report surfaced suggesting that Ms. Burgess' move to Rolling Stone could be announced that day.

In a brief interview with AdAge.com, Mr. Rotherham said he submitted a resignation a week ago and had no immediate plans. -- Jon Fine
