Zenith Media Worldwide, New York, was awarded ExxonMobil's esimated $100 million Fuels Marketing Co. and Lubes Marketing Co. consolidated global media buying assignment. The agency won the pitch against a field of competitors that included three incumbents: Bcom3 Group's Starcom MediaVest Worldwide, Interpublic Group of Cos.' Universal McCann and Omnicom's OMD Worldwide. Zenith and Aegis Group's Carat were the only non-incumbents. "ExxonMobil has appointed Zenith Media as its global media partner and is finalizing details of the agreement," the fuels marketing company said in an announcement issued this afternoon. Richard Hamilton, CEO of Zenith Media in New York, commented, "We are thrilled with this appointment and look forward to helping ExxonMobil maximizing returns on its global media investments."
