Bill Nicholson, Former 4A's Exec, Dies at 64
NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Bill Nicholson, founder of consultancy A-Team Advertising Advisors and former exec VP of the 4A's, died April 24 after a four-month battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.
Mr. Nicholson was a veteran advertising executive who worked at Lintas Worldwide and Bozell Worldwide before moving into a consulting role. From 2000-2004, he was exec VP-management services at the 4A's, advising agency members on their business practices. He later founded A-Team, where he provided consulting services to both agencies and marketers.
"Bill loved the agency business and was a passionate and tireless advocate for its contribution to our society and our economy," A-Team principal and former 4A's exec Jerry Gibbons said in a statement. "His perspective of our industry was broad, but he understood it thoroughly and was able to drill down to the smallest details. He'll be truly missed."
A memorial service is scheduled for May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 209 Madison Avenue at 35th Street in New York.
