Brenda Freeman Becomes CMO of Turner Animation

Brenda Freeman has been named chief marketing officer for Turner Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media. Previously, Ms. Freeman was senior VP-integrated marketing and promotions for Nickelodeon and MTV Networks Kids and Family Group.

DraftFCB has appointed Wendy Lurrie, most recently general manager of DraftFCB, New York, to the newly created role of chief strategy and marketing officer.

Sonia Borris has been promoted to the newly created position of senior VP-marketing and operations, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, from VP-marketing and promotions.

Macy's has appointed Aubyn Elaine Thomas as senior VP-marketing services. She was previously VP of the brand and acquisition marketing group at Harrah's Entertainment in Las Vegas.

David Staas has been hired as VP-marketing at Ad Infuse. Mr. Stass joins the mobile-ad firm from Openwave Systems, where he ran the global product marketing organization.

Michael Kelly has been named chief sales officer of, a Dallas-based marketing firm specializing in local search-engine marketing and optimization.

Merrick Towle Communications has hired Mike Leon as creative director, Michael Yue as associate creative director and Roger Everhart as senior art director. Mr. Leon and Mr. Yue join the Washington-based agency from Chandler Ehrlich in Memphis, Tenn., where they were chief creative officer and associate creative director, respectively. Mr. Everhart was VP-director of merchandising for Sovereign Bank.
