Brendan Ripp Named Publisher of Time

Brendan Ripp has been promoted from VP-sales to publisher of Time. In addition to his current responsibilities overseeing ad sales for Time magazine, Mr. Ripp will now add digital ad sales for and to his portfolio.

Weber Shandwick has elevated Chris Perry to president-digital communications, based in the PR firm's New York office. Mr. Perry, a 10-year veteran of Weber Shandwick, most recently was VP-digital strategy and operations and general manager of the company's Los Angeles office. Prior to that, he worked in the Detroit office, where he led a number of new-media campaigns as the client leader for General Motors.

Vevo has appointed Michael Iantosca to VP-East Coast sales and Luke Kallis to VP-West Coast sales. Mr. Iantosca will be based in New York and lead sales for the web music video and entertainment service in New York, Chicago and Detroit. Prior to joining Vevo, he was VP-digital ad sales at MTV, and before that spent eight years at Microsoft, where he helped launch its SEM sales division and managed the sales team for U.S. Hispanic channel MSN Latino. Mr. Kallis, who will be based in Santa Monica, was previously executive director-entertainment sales at MySpace. Before MySpace, he was director-sales at Facebook, bringing new brand advertisers into the company as its first West Coast sales representative.

Robert Gannon has joined Marketing Management Analytics as senior VP-business development and account management. Mr. Gannon comes to MMA from WPP's Red Dot Square Solutions business, where he served as senior VP-business and customer development, leading acquisition and customer relationship efforts for retailers including Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, General Mills and Target . Before that, he held senior leadership positions at MillerCoors Brewing, Ipsos and the Nielsen Company. Mr. Gannon will work out of both the Chicago office of MMA's parent company, Synovate, and MMA's headquarters in Wilton, Conn.

Geeknet, an online network of sites including SourceForge, Slashdot, ThinkGeek, Ohloh and Freshmeat, has tapped Jason Baird as chief operations officer and Matt Sweeney as chief revenue officer. Mr. Baird comes to Geeknet after spending over a decade at MTV Networks, where he was most recently VP-online advertising sales strategy and operations for the international division. Prior to heading that team, he was senior director-online advertising operations and product, where he helped develop online video advertising for sites including,, and Mr. Sweeney makes the move to Geeknet from Ziff Davis Enterprise (ZDE), where he was president-sales and marketing. Before joining ZDE, he moved up the ranks at International Data Group from VP-associate publisher to CEO of Computerworld and InfoWorld. Additionally, Mr. Sweeney launched CIO Insight Magazine for Ziff Davis Media as national associate publisher.

MRM Worldwide has hired Yahav Isak as senior VP-operations leader. Most recently, Mr. Isak was at WPP Group's JWT, New York, where he established the digital group and headed the agency's digital studio operation, managing clients including Microsoft, J&J, Royal Caribbean, Cadbury, Rolex and DTC.

Social shopping website Kaboodle, part of Hearst Magazines Digital Media, announced two executive promotions: Shari Gunn, previously VP-advertising and business development, was appointed chief marketing officer, and Erika Lenkert, formerly VP-content, is now VP-content and community. Before joining Kaboodle in 2008, Ms. Gunn led the advertising solutions group for Hearst Magazines Digital Media. She also spent four years at Primedia in Los Angeles and co-founded online media company Ms. Lenkert is the founding editor of Glam Media and She has also written for websites such as iVillage and Epicurious and is author of "The Last-Minute Party Girl," as well as co-author of "Raw: The Uncook Book."
