Stephen Odell to VP-sales and marketing, Mazda North American Operations, Irvine, Calif., from the same title at Jaguar Cars North America, Mahwah, N.J. Both are owned by Ford Motor Co. The Mazda post had been vacant since George McCabe resigned two years ago.

Jean de Yturbe, Ian Smith and Bill Whitehead to group presidents, with new functional and regional responsibilities, Bates Worldwide, New York, from executive directors. Mr. de Yturbe will be responsible for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent. He also will be chairman of 141 Worldwide, Cordiant's global marketing services network. Mr. Smith will spearhead existing and new global business in Asia and Australia, working with three global account directors and regional new-business directors. He also will be responsible for the development of the Bates Worldwide brand. Mr. Whitehead will oversee North and South America as well as head Diamond Ad internationally following the recent acquisition of that Seoul-based agency.

Jeffrey P. Whittle to group president-North America, a new post at NFO Worldwide, Greenwich, Conn., from president, Migliara/Kaplan Associates, NFO's healthcare market research division.

Kevin R. Wixted to director of marketing for La-Z-Boy Residential, a new post at La-Z-Boy, Monroe, Mich., from director of advertising and public relations for the furniture marketer.

Carmen Baez, 42, to president of Latin America, a new post at the Diversified Agency Services division of Omnicom Group, New York, from exec VP for the region.
