Eric Schwarzkopf has been promoted to publisher of Fitness magazine. Mr. Schwarzkopf joined Meredith as associate publisher of Fitness in February 2009. He replaces Lee Slattery, who was named VP-publisher for Meredith 's Family Circle magazine last month. Prior to joining Meredith , Mr. Schwarzkopf was associate publisher of Cosmo Girl for four years. He previously held managerial positions at House Beautiful, Harper's Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Living Fit and Fit Pregnancy, and began his career as an account manager at Shape.

Oxygen Media has named Galen Jones to the newly created and recently expanded role of senior VP-Oxygen research. Mr. Jones was previously at Court TV as exec VP-chief strategy officer. Prior to Court TV, he was managing director-business strategy and operations for AOL's Channel Programming group. Mr. Jones was a member of Comedy Central's launch team and was responsible for all staff functions in ad sales, as well as programming research in his post as VP-market development. He began his media career in HBO's affiliate-relations department.

Kurt Abrahamson has been appointed CEO of ShareThis. He will be charged with scaling the sharing platform and driving its value for online publishers, consumers and advertisers. Mr. Abrahamson previously served as CEO of, which was recently acquired by LivingSocial. He came to from Google, where he first served as director of the Content Media Group. In this position, he helped lead the global launch of Google AdSense. Mr. Abrahamson also served as Google's director-global sales and operations strategy and as director-sales operations for North America.

Rob Kabus has joined Eleven Inc. in the new position of president-CMO, reporting to Courtney Buechert, who becomes CEO. Mr. Kabus previously worked with Ms. Beuchert as founding partners of Leagas Delaney; at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners; and at McCann Erickson, San Francisco. He makes the move from Aegis agency Vizeum, Los Angeles, where he was president and global head of strategy. Prior to that , he was the Aegis strategy director in Asia Pacific, head of business development and a member of the Aegis global services bBoard. At Vizeum, Mr. Kabus started up and led the 20th Century Fox international business and strategy network. Ms. Buechert joined Eleven as president in 2006.

Debra Goetz has been named VP-marketing for Gannett. Ms. Goetz joins Gannett from NBC Universal, where she was VP-integrated strategic marketing, responsible for the launch of "Healthy at NBCU" and "Hispanics at NBCU," as well as the "Green Is Universal" initiative. In that role, she delivered customized marketing programs for such clients as GE, General Mills, Sony Pictures and Subaru. Prior to NBC Universal, Ms. Goetz was VP-corporate marketing at Univision Communications, where she helped create the company's first brand campaign. Before Univision, Ms. Goetz spent seven years at Young & Rubicam, which she left to start her own marketing consulting business.

Megan Canavan has been appointed to the newly created position of chief financial officer of Style Network. Since 2007, Ms. Canavan served as VP-finance for NBC Universal in the NBC News division. She joined NBC News in 2006 as director-financial planning and analysis and was promoted to VP in 2007. Prior to NBC News, she had worked at MTV Networks in various consolidation and operational finance roles at Nickelodeon Entertainment Group and MTV Networks Corporate.

Horizon Media has hired Christopher Fitzgerald as senior VP-brand activation director. Mr. Fitzgerald was previously VP-group director at MediaVest Worldwide, where he led activation for the Capital One, Post Foods and Comcast Cable accounts. During his tenure there, he helped launch the Capital One Cup, a multiplatform marketing sponsorship with the NCAA, ESPN, CBS and IMG. Before that , Mr. Fitzgerald was associate director-national broadcast for Procter & Gamble and also worked at a number of agencies in a variety of capacities, including manager-national broadcast at MediaEdge and national broadcast supervisor at Initiative .
