Rancho Mirage, Calif. Over 500 people turned out for the Magazine Publishers of America's 2003 American Magazine Conference. Among other things, this year's conference saw Reader's Digest Association Chairman-CEO Thomas O. Ryder assume the role of chairman of MPA, and TV Guide rejoined the association for the first time since 2000.
