NEW YORK: Advertising Women of New York hosted its annual Advertising Woman of the Year luncheon at the New Hilton & Towers late last month, honoring Abby F. Kohnstamm (2nd r.), senior VP-marketing, IBM Corp., as its 1999 Adwoman of the Year. CHICAGO: The Retail Advertising & Marketing Association's 48th annual Retail Advertising Conference featured an awards ceremony in which Howard Adler (r.), senior VP-advertising, Lord & Taylor, accepted the Retail Partnership Award, presented by the Newspaper Association of America for expert use of newspapers to drive business. John Kimball, senior VP-chief marketing officer of NAA, made the presentation.

ATLANTA: Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath (2nd l.) joined NFL Insider at a kickoff party for the magazine at Club E.S.S.O. late last month.
