Renetta McCann Joins Leo Burnett as Chief Talent Officer
Former Starcom MediaVest Group CEO Renetta McCann has joined Publicis Groupe 's Leo Burnett as the agency's U.S. chief talent officer.
Ms. McCann, who will oversee the agency's U.S. recruitment, training, benefits and talent management, will report directly to North American President Rich Stoddart. "Renetta is committed to attracting and retaining the very best and brightest minds in business today and will help ensure that Leo Burnett is a magnet for top communications people around the world," said Mr. Stoddart in a statement.
Ms. McCann, who's been one of the top-ranking African-American women in media and marketing, started her advertising career at Leo Burnett in 1978, and eventually went on to become global CEO of Publicis sibling Starcom MediaVest Group -- a post she left in 2008. Ms. McCann then became chief talent officer at Publicis Groupe 's Vivaki, and most recently, has been a consultant.
She is replacing Jeff Tritt, who in April left his post as exec VP-people and culture at Burnett to become chief talent officer at Resource Interactive in Columbus, Ohio.
