Bob Isherwood, creative director for Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, said he made Eric Silver an offer only 12 hours ago. Mr. Silver starts his new role today, working on brands for Saatchi's two major clients, Procter & Gamble Co. and General Mills.
Mr. Silver's title will be group creative director and he will report to Tod Seisser, chief creative officer. Mr. Silver will also take on new-business responsibilities and will report to Scott Gilbert, managing partner of Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, in that capacity.
Mr. Silver departed Cliff Freeman two weeks ago; he was not immediately available for comment.
Mr. Isherwood, speaking from the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France, said he had not been specifically looking to bolster the creative firepower of the New York office, but added: "The opportunity came along and we went for it. It's very exciting to have him."
The two advertising executives met at an advertising conference in Shanghai and struck up a strong relationship.
