Suzanne Kolb Will Replace Gavin Harvey

NEW YORK ( -- The WB network's executive vice president of marketing, Suzanne Kolb, is leaving the broadcast network to join E! Entertainment as senior vice president of marketing,
Suzanne Kolb is leaving The WB for E! Entertainment.
the cable network announced yesterday.

The former ad agency executive replaces Gavin Harvey, who left E! earlier this year to become president of the Outdoor Life Network.

Eight years
Ms. Kolb, 35, who has been with WB Network, a unit of Time Warner, for the past eight years, told she will take a short break between jobs because "I don't want to take what I learned on one brand and apply it to a new brand." Ms. Kolb begins her new position on Jan. 18 and will spearhead marketing and promotions, advertising, strategic brand partnerships, on-air promotions and design. She will oversee not only the main channel but its sibling Style Network and also E!Online and international operations.

She said she did not intend to take any of her existing WB team with her. Ms. Kolb is credited with helping the success of the WB's Superman series Smallville and the growth of integrated marketing ventures with Pepsi-Cola and Kmart.

Previous relationship
Ms. Kolb will report to Chief Operating Officer Ken Bettsteller and Ted Harbert, the recently installed E! Entertainment president-CEO. Ms. Kolb had worked with Mr. Harbert while on the ad account for Walt Disney-owned network ABC at Grey Global Group's Grey Entertainment when Mr. Harbert was rising through the network's ranks as entertainment president and later entertainment unit chairman.
