Says He and E. Neville Isdell Will Be 'Great Partners'

NEW YORK ( -- Steven Heyer, president and No. 2 executive of Coca-Cola Co., last week spoke enthusiastically about E. Neville Isdell, who was selected May 4 to head the company following a closely watched race for a successor to Douglas Daft.

Mr. Heyer was Mr. Isdell's competitor to replace Mr. Daft, the beverage giant's departing chairman-CEO. It has been widely speculated Mr. Heyer would leave the company if he was not chosen for the top spot. Mr. Heyer is also the compnay's chief operating officer.

'Great partners'
Speaking to investors at a Goldman Sachs conference in New York, Mr. Heyer said, "Neville is a terrific guy. He understands the system. He totally embraces the strategy we put in place. We'll be great partners."

New advertising from WPP Group's Berlin Cameron, New York, the agency of record for the Coke brand, breaks this week for C2, Coca-Cola's mid-calorie cola, a Coke spokesman said. Summer season spots for Coke debuted two weeks ago.
