He will partner with Executive Creative Director Gerry Graf to oversee the New York extensions of TBWA and its interactive arm, Tequila. Current clients include Absolut, Bayer, Nivea, Embassy Suites, Level vodka and Mars products Combos, Skittles, Snickers and Starburst. Mr. Mitchell had previously handled the One Show award-winning global Mars account for the agency.
Replaces Brett Gosper
Mr. Mitchell takes over the position vacated by Brett Gosper in August 2005. Robert LePlae, president of TBWA North America, had overseen the New York group during the interim.
"Corey understands the fundamentals of what it takes to build a business and help create new business opportunities, not only with prospective clients, but with current clients as well," Mr. LePlae said in a statement. "His ability to forge powerful relationships with network clients, and effectively partner them with TBWA's various marketing disciplines, will prove instrumental as we accelerate the expansion of our media-arts model."
Mr. Mitchell has been with TBWA for eight years, five of which were spent in the Los Angeles office.
