Directech eMerge is the new name of Directech, Lexington, Mass. Previously, its two divisions operated under the separate names of Directech and eMerge Marketing. The change reflects the integration of the agency's traditional and Internet marketing services. President Barry Silverstein was promoted to CEO, while Chief Operating Officer Peter Evans becomes president.

Peter Group, Philadelphia, named Steven Weiss president-chief operating officer. Mr. Weiss joins the agency from his former post as exec VP at Union Fidelity Life Insurance Co., where he developed its Direct Response Partnership business.

Draft Worldwide hired three new account directors in its Chicago and Westport, Conn., offices. In Chicago, Steven Saura becomes account director on Kellogg Co., from account director on Procter & Gamble Co. at the Integer Group, Denver; Thyra DeCiccio was named account director on Eli Lilly & Co., from account supervisor for Targetcom., Chicago. Also, Jennifer Unangst joins the Agency @ Marketing Corp. of America, a Draft subsidiary, as account director for ABC Television. Separately at Draft, Tom Baer was named to the new post of senior VP-entertainment marketing and Ideaworld, from VP-entertainment and marketing at Frankel, Chicago.

Valassis Communications, Livonia, Mich., acquired a majority interest in Independent Delivery Services, a subsidiary of Dawick Enterprises. IDS' software and e-commerce systems allow supermarkets to implement home-shopping programs.
