Director Daisy Zhou is signing with production company Great Guns for representation for branded content and music videos in the U.K., India, Asia, the Middle East, Germany and Eastern Europe. The Brooklyn-based director and cinematographer was shortlisted for two YDA's (Young Director Awards) at Cannes in the Online Branded Film category for her documentary film for Spotify, "Black History is Happening Now," featuring Janelle Monáe, and her "Vogue" film for Nike featuring transgender vogue dancer Leiomy Maldonado. She has also directed for brands such as Lincoln, W Magazine, Chanel, Victoria's Secret and Vox.
Humble is adding Natalia Leite to its roster for her first commercial representation. Leite, a writer and director for features, indie films and documentaries, is best known for projects including "M.F.A.," a psychological thriller about rape crimes at a university that premiered at SXSW 2017 and was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize, as well as "Every Woman," a Vice documentary about traditionally female-held jobs that has garnered over 12 million views. Her first work with Humble includes two docu-style brand films for Vans' "Off the Wall" brand entitled "Girls Skate India" and "Vision Walk." She also teamed up with agency Sid Lee to direct a new campaign for The North Face, "Move Mountains," that highlights the inspiring stories of female creators, athletes, educators, and innovators.
Indy8 is adding signing collective the Roos Brothers for representation in the U.K. and Europe. The brothers have been making films together since childhood, and their work spans short films, branded series and broadcast spots, including with clients such as Reebok, Nike, Coca-Cola and NYCFC. Their short films have been recognized for three consecutive years with Webby Award nominations, and their recent commercial series for Rocky Mountain Health was an official 2018 Brand Film Fest selection.
Society is adding two new directors to its roster: TwinTaoers and Catherine Losing. TwinTaoers, aka Aaron and Winston Tao, are Los Angeles-based twin brothers who were shortlisted for the Young Director Award at Cannes for their short, "Sleep Well, My Baby", while their branded film, "SuperMaarko" won them a Webby Award for People's Voice. Losing is a director and photographer based in London. She was one of only four photographers commissioned for MoMA's first fashion exhibition since 1944, and has also shot for brands such as Lacoste, Grolsch, Samsung, Polaroid, Absolut and Vogue.
Editor Rami D'Aguiar is joining Nice Shoes. D'Aguiar has edited campaigns for brands such as Mitsubishi, Pepsi, Fiat and Heineken and has worked with agencies such as 72 & Sunny, BBDO Mexico, DDB Paris, Havas Paris, Leagas Delaney Italy, TBWA, Grey NY, David, JWT, Ogilvy & Mather Publicis, and Wieden & Kennedy Brazil.
Editorial company Nomad is adding editor Jojo King to its roster. King has edited music videos such as Janelle Monae's single "Pynk" and Moses Sumney's "Worth It" as well as films and spots for Vogue, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas Originals, Marc Jacobs and Victoria's Secret. He has also just wrapped jobs with Droga5 and Johannes Leonardo
TheBridge.Co, a New York and L.A.-based studio which specializes in connecting artists with brands and agencies, is opening an office in London and has named Derick Procope as editorial director and CEO. Procope is a fashion director and designer who spent five years in New York as fashion director of Condé Nast's Details magazine.
Carbon is adding senior colorist Julien Biard to its roster in Chicago. Biard joins Carbon after working in London at MPC and Finish/ Freefolk. His past work includes the 2015 Cannes double Grand Prix-winning Volvo "Life Paint" for Grey London. He went freelance in 2017, continuing to work for directors at production companies like Agile, Iconoclast and Pulse Films.
