Blink has signed Martin Krejci to its roster for representation in the U.K. Krejci moves from Stink and returns to commercials following work on his soon-to-be-released debut feature film, "The True Adventures of Wolfboy," starring John Turturro. His previous work includes spots for Lurpak, Heineken, Carlsberg, Ikea and Nike, as well as a series of ads for Germany's Hornbach.
Company Films has added Swedish director Axel Laubscher to its roster for commercial representation in the U.S. He is best known for his comedic spots for an international client base including Bankia, Santec, Molto Cool, Richner, Interflora, Vodafone and Fisherman's Friend. For work in Sweden, Laubscher will continue to operate his Stockholm-based production company Social Club.
Humble has signed Dutch director Ismael ten Heuvel, known as Ismael, to its roster, marking his entry into the U.S. market for commercial representation. Based in Amsterdam, he has worked with European agencies including DDB, Ogilvy and TBWA and on brands such as Ford, Volkswagen and Heineken. His latest spot is Plus Supermarket's holiday film with J. Walter Thompson Amsterdam depicting a young girl going back and forth between her divorced parents' homes.
Executive producers Lisa Masseur and Reid Brody are opening Tessa Films, based in Chicago and Los Angeles. Masseur was most recently executive producer at One at Optimus, the production division of the post-production company Optimus. Prior to that she was at Radar Studios and before that at Ebel Productions. Brody is an entrepreneur known for building post production companies such as Filmworkers Club. Tessa Films opens with a directorial roster that includes Sam Macon, Tim Mason and Duncan Wolfe, all of whom were previously with Masseur at One at Optimus.
Nexus Studios has added Alex Courtès to its roster for exclusive representation in the U.K. and U.S. Courtès was the man behind Daft Punk's iconic helmets and graphic art for Air and Cassius, and directed the Grammy award-winning "Vertigo" for U2 and as well as videos The White Stripes, Kylie Minogue, Cat Power and Pharrell Williams. He has directed spots for Puma, Paco Rabanne, Peugeot and Adidas among others.
Method Studios has tapped Erika Burton to lead its features business across Method and sister company Iloura, as executive VP, Global Features VFX. Burton was most recently at Digital Domain, where she was executive VP and general manager and has also worked at companies including PDI/ DreamWorks Animation and Rhythm & Hues Film Division. Method has signed Heather Jennings from Digital Domain as VP and executive producer, features VFX business development. Meanwhile, the company is moving production executive Gabby Gourrier to a new role driving the studio's brand-direct and special projects business, and promoting Deb Giarratana to SVP, global features VFX, business development.
Bullitt adds Allison Amon as executive VP of sales and development. Formerly a partner, executive producer, and co-owner of Chelsea Pictures, Amon spent eighteen years at the company. She also previously served as head of production at Palomar Pictures and as a freelance producer.
Eight VFX, the New York and Los Angeles-based visual effects, design and production studio, has named Abbe Daniel as executive producer for its New York office. She joins from Leroy & Clarkson, the brand design and identity boutique in New York. Prior to Leroy & Clarkson, she was at the experiential studio Fake Love, and has held posts at such studios as Digital Kitchen, Curious Pictures, Click 3X and R/GA.
Colorist Cullen Kelly joins the roster of artists at boutique color and post production studio Apache. The studio is also promoting Quinn Alvarez from an assistant's role to that of a full color artist. Kelly joins from Labrador Post, a color grading studio he founded in Austin, while Alvarez has been with Apache since 2015, after joining from Prettybird.
