1stAveMachine has added Jonathan Gurvit to its North American directorial roster. At the same time, he joins Smuggler for U.K. representation. Gurvit is a former senior agency creative who held executive creative director and head of art roles at the likes of Del Campo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy Argentina before turning to directing in 2011. He shot his first piece, "Hair Conditioner," for Santander Bank while still at Ogilvy Argentina, winning his first Cannes Lions as a director for the project. He went to win a further 17, as well as awards at shows including D&AD, New York Festival and One Show, and has directed commercials for brands including Mars, Nissan, Volkswagen, MTV and Coca-Cola.
Manhattan-based MacGuffin Films has added director Marie Constantinesco to its roster. Constantinesco currently directs the web series "My Life In Sourdough," and has most recently created work for Le Creuset and Penguin Books. Her short film "Little Revolutions" was nominated for Best Short Film at the Edinburgh Film Festival 2013.
Interstate has signed Rio de Janeiro-based directing duo Tomat for exclusive U.S. representation. The duo, Tomas Salles and Mateus Araujo, formed Tomat in 2011 while working as visual effects artists in Brazil. That same year, as directors, they went on to win a Bronze Lion at Cannes for their "Cat-Toast" spot for energy drink Flying Horse. They have also worked with brands including Budweiser, Coca-Cola, Renault, and Bayer.
Logan & Sons has signed Jeremy Asher Lynch to its roster of directors. Lynch is known for helming the short film "Tomgirl," about a gender non-conforming seven-year-old, that played at more than 50 film festivals worldwide. He has worked on commercials for Audi, Samsung, Dodge, Redbull, Geico, American Express, The American Cancer Society, NRG Energy, Subway, Discovery Channel and Science Channel, and is currently directing a dramatic comedy series set in a Hollywood casting office.
Gramercy Park Studios has appointed Billy Wright as head of motion graphics. Wright, who brings 16 years' worth of experience in motion graphics, was previously a motion graphics designer at Fourleaf, a London-based digital marketing and design agency. Prior to Fourleaf, he was at The Farm, a post-production agency with facilities in London, Bristol, and L.A.
B-Reel Films director Tom Malmros has relocated from Sweden to Los Angeles for representation in North America. Malmros' work includes Hotel626, which won a Cannes Gold Lion, and "Like a Swede." He recently completed a series of spots for Gillette.
