Believe Signs Radical Friend, Reveman Joins Interrogate and More
Believe Media UK has signed Radical Friend, the directing alias of Los Angeles-based experimental filmmaker Kirby McClure, for commercial and new media work throughout Europe. His work includes Lexus' "Design Disrupted," a 15-minute multimedia ballet/fashion presentation featuring Coco Rocha, and a film trailer announcing the launch of the 2015 Type-R Honda Civic for London agency Karmarama.
Swedish-born director Joakim Reveman has joined Interrogate's roster of directors. A former creative director at TBWA Paris, he also started his own directing collective, The Vikings. Their work included "The Power of Wind," a winner of a Gold Lion at the Cannes Lions festival and the Grand Prix at Eurobest, among other awards. Reveman has worked in Europe and the U.S. at @Radical Media with clients including Nike, Cadbury, BMW and ESPN on projects for agencies like GSD&M, Wieden & Kennedy and Euro RSCG New York.
Acne Production has hired Luis Aguiluz as executive creative producer, based in its Los Angeles studio. Aguiluz joins Acne after three years at Deutsch LA. Working with brands including Google, Procter & Gamble, Volkswagen, and Playstation, he has developed websites, digital campaigns, advertising takeovers, digital installations, and mobile apps. His work includes "SmileDrive" for Volkswagen, Deutsch LA's "Cannes Has Pizza" campaign, and the "Pop Over" movie app for Pop Secret.
Los Angeles-based Workhorse Media has signed the directing team of Zach Zamboni and Tom Vitale for commercial and digital work. The duo are best known for their work on Anthony Bourdain's CNN travel/food/lifestyle series "Parts Unknown" and over 100 episodes of "No Reservations."
Humble has added David Rosenbaum to its directorial roster. He moves from Caviar, where he wrote and directed sci-fi short film "The Trail's End." He began his career at Digital Domain, and has worked on spots such as "Biomorph" for Nike, and was a previzualization artist on movies including "Tron: Legacy" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
Artists and Derelicts has added director Gil Green to its roster for commercials, having previously signed him for music videos. Green has directed campaigns for brands including Pepsi, Timberland, and Bud Light as well as the opening introductions for The Miami Heat for the past four years. His music career includes more than 150 videos for artists including P. Diddy, Lupe Fiasco, and Trey Songz, and he received an MTV Video Music Award for "Best Hip Hop Video" for directing Lil Wayne's "Lollipop."
Final Cut has added editor Kyle Valenta to its team. Previously at Joint Editorial, he worked there with clients such as Nike, Livestrong, Dodge and P&G. For the past year, he has been freelancing on projects for Apple and Facebook. He recently cut Apple's "Your Verse" iPad campaign, including the anthem ad featuring Robin Williams' recitation of poetry by Walt Whitman.
Taylor Steele, a filmmaker best known for surf documentaries "Sipping Jetstream" and "Castles in the Sky," has joined Bully Pictures for advertising projects. He has directed more than 40 films as well as TV spots for Corona, Aston Martin, Roxy and Pacifico. In his first project for Bully, Steele directed a campaign for HP Computers and 180LA featuring pro surfer Ian Walsh.
Italian directing duo Tommaso Bertè and Paolo Borgato have signed with Sandwick for representation in the U.S. The duo made their debut with an Italian PSA for Save the Children,and have worked for advertisers such as Ikea, Volkswagen, Centrum, the New York Times, German energy company E.ON and the Viverde hotel and resort company.
Madheart has signed director Mark Andrew for exclusive U.S. representation. Andrew is a specialist in fashion and lifestyle advertising who began live action direction after a 20-year career as a commercial photographer. His work includes projects for American Eagle, Aeropostale, Target, 7th Generation, Oil of Olay, Lane Bryant and the American Cancer Society.
