Tool signs James Frost, Stink adds new talent roster

Tool of North America is signing director James Frost to its live-action roster. Born in London, and based in L.A., Frost is known for his expertise in fusing technical expertise with humor. He has worked on multiple commercial campaigns including as Nike's "Human Printing Press," American Express' "Business Gold Reward Card," BMW's "Comparable" and Ford's "The Dog," among others. On the music video side, he has worked with brands and artists including Radiohead, Alabama Shakes, OK Go, Norah Jones, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, The White Stripes, and Kylie Minogue. He helemd Coldplay's "Yellow," Norah Jones' "Come Away With Me," and Radiohead's "House of Cards."

Stink is this week unveiling Stink Rising, a new roster that focuses on young and upcoming talent. It launches with ten filmmakers, some of whom are wholly new to Stink and others who were already on its main roster. They include Douglas Bernardt, nominated for the 2016 YDA at Cannes; Felix Brady, who won only Gold for Best New Director at Kinsale; Geej Ower, whose latest music video for Becky and the Birds has just been shortlisted at the U.K. MVA's for Best Pop Video Newcomer and Jared Hogan, known for creating a furry red monster in a swimming pool for Joji in "Demons." Also on the roster are Dutch director Judith Veenendaal, who has worked on music videos and commercials; Kenneth Karlstad, who won the critics' award at the Norwegian Short Film Festival; Matthew Thorne, a young Australian artist whose commercial work includes second unit direction for "Alien: Covenant"; Dutch director, artist and photographer Noël Loozen; Nigerian-American Sherif Alabede. who has received acclaim for his music videos "Arcadian" and "Acid Rain" for Lorn, and British director Stella Corradi, who spent years working with young people and refugees in documentary before moving into film.

Humble is adding director Raymond Bark to its roster. Bark started his career in his native South Africa working primarily on action feature films. His commercial directing career began in Canada with a spot for Amnesty International before he moved to L.A in 2000. His first work for Humble includes a campaign for Timberland Pro with the Martin Agency.

Cassandra Brooksbank

Great Guns has signed director Cassanda Brooksbank to its roster globally. Brooksbank, who hails from Las Vegas, started out her career working commercially with brands such as Porsche, Sony, Microsoft and Chevrolet. She has also written several feature films, a television pilot and has directed multiple music videos, such as Todrick Hall's music video feature film "Fobidden" featuring RuPaul.

Prettybird has expanded its roster in the U.K., signing directors Eloise King, Sophie Muller and Yoni Lappin. King was most recently global executive producer at VICE, overseeing all digital channels in the U.K., and i-D globally. Her work includes projects for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, MTV, A&E and Al Jazeera English. Muller has worked with artists including Eurythmics, Kylie Minogue, Sade and Gwen Stefani, and most recently with Rihanna and Bebe Rexa. Based in the U.S. for some years, she has returned to the U.K. and will be focusing on music videos, commercial work and stills. Lappin is a London based filmmaker and photographer who has collaborated performers including A$AP Rocky, Mura Masa, Octavian and NAO. His video for Mura Masa and A$AP Rocky's "Love$ick" has had more than 50 million views and he has created spots for Converse, Adidas, Vogue and Nowness.

Serial Pictures has signed directing duo BRTHR for North American representation of branded entertainment, commercials, music videos and digital. Comprising filmmakers Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman, the duo has helmed spots for brands such as Adidas, Yves Saint Laurent, Converse and Helmut Lang. Their most recent work is the launch trailer for EA Sports FIFA19 starring Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar. They have also directed music videos for Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Iggy Azalea, Miley Cyrus, and Charli XCX.

Tobin Sanson

Kaboom Productions has added director Tobin Sanson to its roster following his first work with the company on a campaign for lifestyle brand Everlane. He has also worked with clients such as Clif Bar, Camelback, Cole Haan, Mountain Hardware, Huckberry and Hanah and was also part of the creative team that lensed the "Walk On Water" music video for the band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Creative studio Object & Animal is opening its doors in London and Los Angeles, producing commercials, branded content, music videos, films, and installations. Its roster of directors, photographers and creatives includes Karim Huu Do, Natalie Rae, Bright Black, Nick Walker, Diana Kunst, and FKA Twigs while commercial work so far includes projects for Apple, Nike, Uber, Impossible Foods and Global Goals, and music videos for A$AP Rocky, Skepta, and Playboi Carti. U.K. partners Dom Thomas and Morgan Clement will head up the studio's London location, while U.S. partners James Cunningham and Justin Benoliel will represent in Los Angeles. Millie Yoxen, former art buyer and photo producer at Mother, BBH and Saatchi & Saatchi, will lead the London-based photography division. The studio is also partnering with Spain's O Creative Studios, representing its roster in the U.K., U.S. & Canada, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.

L.A. production company Hound has signed director Ken Karpel to its roster. Karpel has worked with Collider in Australia, Bakery Films in Germany, Target Pictures in Prague and Esse House in the Ukraine and with clients ranging from adidas, Jeep, Netflix, Nestle, UniCredit Bank and E.ON.

Hey Beautiful Jerk

Postal, the post-production company founded by Eric Berkowitz, is collaborating with animation directors Mark Szumski and Gina Niespodziani, also known as Hey Beautiful Jerk. The duo have helmed music video work and concert visuals for artists including Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Cardi B, commercial work for Yahoo, Fender, Google, Adult Swim and Optimum, a series of short independent animated films, and a short form documentary made for Viacom.

MPC is appointing Camila De Biaggi to the role of senior executive producer role at MPC N.Y. and hiring Angela Lupo as managing director. Biaggi, who has been at MPC for over five years, has established and grown the creative reputation and profile of MPC N.Y. and will now be focusing on the studio's creative projects, client relationship management and sales. Lupo joins MPC N.Y. from Method Studios where she was VP, executive producer.

Los Angeles-based integrated production company Stept is appointing Susanne Kelly, based in NYC, as a sales executive producer with a focus on East Coast business. Before joining Stept, Kelly served as an executive producer for Rocket Film and as the East Coast director of new business and sales for Aéro Film.
