Walker Strengthens Venables Bell & Partners' Digital Offerings

Venables Bell & Partners, San Francisco, has built a reputation on strong creative. Now it's solidifying its digital credentials. The shop has hired Tom Walker, 39, as director of Interactive. Mr. Walter is a veteran of AKQA and USWeb/CKS.

Most recently, he was director of internet creative for Pottery Barn Brands.

Among the projects Mr. Walker has handled at Venables is letsgreenthiscity.com, part of an extensive campaign for Pacific Gas & Electric Company intended to make San Francisco the greenest city in the nation.

Other clients with interactive projects include HBO, Barclays and the Montana Meth Project.

Currently, the agency is one of three finalists awaiting word on whether it has won the $70 million Audi of America account. Other contenders include BBH, New York, whose parent shop handles the car account in Europe, and incumbent McKinney, Durham, N.C.
