Discover Financial Services this month is giving away free videotapes of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Island of Misfit Toys," to anyone spending at least $250 using a Discover card at participating shopping malls operated by the Mills Corp. The effort is promoted in Discover card mailings and via in-mall TV screens throughout the 13-mall network.

The National Basketball Association recently inked a year-long deal with Dairy Management and the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board for title sponsorship of its Rookie of the Month, Rookie of the Year, Rookie Challenge, All-Rookie Team and NBA Draft events. The milk team also continues its marketing relationship for the second year with the Minnesota Timberwolves' Kevin Garnett and early next year launches an NBA-themed retail promotion themed: "nothin' but flavor."

Visa U.S.A. extended its sponsorship of shopping malls operated by Simon Property Group for two more years, and in 2002 will start new product testing and development at Simon's 200-plus shopping malls throughout the U.S.
