Last year brought incredible growth for The Tombras Group, headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn. New business included Michelin North America, Bush's, GE Consumer Appliances and furniture marketer Ekornes, and the staff grew from 110 to 140 employees.
One new client, Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine, needed to stand out in a saturated market after its 2010 launch. And the campaign succeeded; sales took the brand's total share of the moonshine market to an estimated 40% to 45%.
Why the boom in business? Clients heard about the agency's digital and analytics, said Exec VP Dooley Tombras. Mr. Tombras runs the agency with his father, Charlie Tombras, whose father, Charles Tombras Sr., founded it in 1946.
