Lorraine Twohill describes her job as "coping with the fast-moving train that is Google." The European marketing director has grown her department from two people in London to a whole network of offices across the continent.

Irish-born Ms. Twohill, 35, is a very modern marketer. She speaks five languages and has lived all over Europe while working at internet travel and leisure companies Opodo and Dreamticket. At Google, she continues to create marketing initiatives that end up being adopted around the world, like the "space" consumer trial in which 60,000 travelers spent time Googling on computers set up at Heathrow Airport.

"She is very bright, very focused, very dynamic," says Nigel Morris, president of Aegis Group's Isobar digital agency network, "and she makes things happen."
