Before making the move to Park Pictures last year, RSA's Terence Neale applied his masterful touches to several standout Adidas Originals spots from Johannes Leonardo. The first juxtaposed creative and cultural legends with up-and-comers to a re-mixed, modernized version of Frank Sinatra's "My Way," while a follow-up ad styled Kendall Jenner as Botticelli's Venus and celebrities assuming the pose of Da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man."
An array of talent remains at the company, including new signings such as Michael Mann and Daniel Mulloy. Mulloy's "Together it's Christmas" for Otto brought nail-biting tension to a holiday ad, depicting a busload of passengers on a treacherous Bolivian mountain road.
Elsewhere Toby Dye delicately handled Heineken's "Worlds Apart," the much talked about film that saw people with vastly different viewpoints bonding over a beer; Jordan Vogt-Roberts helmed a hilarious film for Activision's "Destiny 2" that asked viewers to imagine a world without lattes and puppies and Jake Scott charmed us with "Bodega Cat," for the New York Lottery, about a resourceful Manhattan kitty.
