Jennifer Healan drove Travis Scott deal for McDonald's
Just a month before lockdown, JJ Healan joined McDonald’s after 15 years at Coca-Cola. That meant she had to learn a new business as well as its franchisee model, all while leading efforts to keep drive-thrus open and safe and providing 10 million free meals for healthcare workers. Healan and her team were behind the year's biggest wins in brand partnerships, the Travis Scott meal, which was quickly followed by the J Balvin meal and set the stage for this year’s BTS offering. Much of the credit for McDonald’s double-digit sales gain in September goes to the meals initiative, which received 29 billion views across social media and spurred $50 million in incremental sales.
Healan also led the brand to take a stand on issues of race and has shifted multicultural campaigns to a more foundational role—she's ensured that the work is bespoke to its audience, not just simply adapted from existing pushes.
