The global chief creative officers of Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness and McCann Health will be the jury presidents at the first Lions Health awards at the 2014 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.Kathy Delaney, global chief creative officer of Saatchi's healthcare network, is chairing the Health & Wellness jury, while Jeremy Perrott, global chief creative officer at McCann health, handles the Pharma category.
Lions Health is a new festival-within-the-festival aimed at the health care industry, whose ads generally don't win much at Cannes, and will be held before the main festival, on Friday and Saturday, June 13 and 14, 2014.
Ms. Delaney will join the ranks of the few women who have been jury presidents at Cannes (at the 2013 festival, 2 of 16 jury presidents were women). Like many jury presidents, she has already been a judge at Cannes, at the 2010 festival. She has been at Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness since February 2013. Earlier in her career, she was chief creative officer and president of Deutsch. From 2007 to 2011, Ms. Delaney served as global chief creative officer and president of Nitro, where she helped build business globally, culminating in its sale to global digital consultancy Sapient, and the formation of SapientNitro, a global digital and brand-specialist network. Most recently, Ms. Delaney headed her own consultancy and launched the SK Energy Shots brand in partnership with brand incubator Pure Growth Partners.
Mr. Perrott came to McCann Health from McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, where he was executive creative director. Before that he held creative posts at McCann Erickson in Tokyo, New York, London and Seoul.
In announcing the new healthcare awards earlier this year, the festival said Lions Health will cover three areas: health (communication that falls under regulatory restrictions), wellness (communications that aren't regulated) and sustainability.
