Bosnia native Sasha Savic is a diehard salmon fisherman, a filmmaker and a media-agency boss who has worked and lived in numerous international markets. But he doesn't stand out just for his eclectic resume -- he's hard to miss at 6'5''.

Since he joined WPP's MediaCom in 2012, the firm's North American operation has gained more than $100 million in accounts from Sony, Siemens and AARP.
Mr. Savic, 46, He's also hired a number of new senior-level executives and started an acting course for employees -- an idea he dreamed up after getting his own training at the New York Film Academy and producing the documentary "A Passion Called Salmon."
Mr. Savic's experimentation with media started in the former Yugoslavia, where he began his career as a founding member and producer of YouthRadio, the first independent radio station in the region.
